What is the PTP?
The PTP is a network of all concerned stakeholders in the
Alps: legal authorities, hydropower companies, research
institutes on rivers ecology or on hydraulic engineering,
environmental associations, fishing associations...
The PTP will be active from September 2011
to 31 July 2012.
PTP members will test and evaluate SHARE's tools and results.
According to their feedback and input, SHARE partners will adjust
the custom-made toolbox that they aim to create.
PTP members are involved at several level: specific access to SHARE
results, feedback on both approach and tools developed by SHARE,
steering commitee
SHARE approach and tools are to be tested on 11 pilot case studies.
The local PTP is involved in these pilot case studies as both a
steering committee and a pool of expert. The local PTP feedbacks to
SHARE partners about these approach and tools.
Web platform
The web platform will be a privileged mean to communicate and work
within the PTP: members have special access to SHARE's
tools and resources. They are allowed to navigate restricted access
areas in order to consult, complete, upload, download or comment on
them.
Workshops & seminars
The network members will be invited to participate to events,
notably:
Online seminars will occur regularly, depending on
the evolution of SHARE's results. PTP members will learn how to use
SHARE tools via tutorials, examples and trainings. They will assess the
tools' efficiency, representative quality and reliability.
The first online seminars are planned for November
2010.
Direct workshops will take place in each partner
country at least once. These multilateral meetings will introduce
SHARE's multicriteria approach methodology (and its advancement). PTP
members will have the opportunity to give feedback and directions on
the development of the tools implementing this approach.
Direct workshops are planned for September
2011.
2-Work groups
To be more efficient and manageable, the PTP is divided into 6
groups.
- 5 national PTPs: Austria, France, Italy, Slovenia
and Germany. Their organisation is closely linked to the administrative
and to the legal planning framework in each country. The working
language is the mother tongue.
- 1 transnational PTP: it will provide feedback
about issues not linked to a national context, such as scientific
background for the MCA, trans-border river catchments… The working
language is English.
Advantages
The PTP is a win-win partnership between its members and SHARE
project partners:
- It offers access to specific information &
tools:
It facilitates innovation and
normative compliance;
It offers documents, educational &
training activities, software, events... various ressources for
free;
It promotes SHARE's multicriteria
approach for hydropower & river management and smooth
upgrade of decision support systems.
- It puts together various actors involved in SHARE
issues:
It enables exchanges and
sharing of knowledge between specialists in different
fields;
It facilitates innovation &
Alpine news watch.
- It assigns specific visibility to different
stakeholders involved and to SHARE approach.
- It collects data, comments and feedback to adapt SHARE's
approach & results to local and national background and to
a concrete way of management.
